What a mess the 2009 bill S1148 created. A few special interest groups and Executive Branch friends trying to take over your investment - for some of us our only 401k. Unbelievable! The quota license for many = the ability to borrow $ from the bank. This episode in 2009 changed all that!

Quota licensee owners were horrified to learn they were being turned down operating $ from their bank - a direct result from the 2009 legislative attempt. That legislation, although it failed, created a case of collateral damage for quota licensees. 

Every year since 2009, ILBA has had to raise $ to fight similar bills. As before, it is always the same ignorant statement - liquor licenses create economic development. Actually, Quota Licensing creates a safer dependable society which helps promote and secure Economic Development. Know the truth - read the data: more licenses = more DUI related infractions, domestic violence, under aged drinking, and deaths. The cost to society is significant.  DO NOT BE FOOLED!

FORTUNATELY THIS BILL FAILED ON THE FLOOR OF THE HOUSE AFTER A LONG DEBATE AND THE CHALLENGE BY ONE LEGISLATOR TO HAVE THE LEGISLATURE READ THE FULL BILL BEFORE VOTING. TAKE A LOOK AT THE VOTE. SOME OF THESE PEOPLE ARE STILL IN THE LEGISLATURE TODAY.
